You may have read our article about U.S. Army officer Lt. Dan Choi. As you may recall Dan Choi, a West Point graduate, fluent in Arabic who is also a combat veteran, refuses to lie about his sexual preference.
As a West Point cadet Dan Choi was trained to forego cheating, lying and stealing. As a commissioned officer Dan Choi is sworn to practice integrity everyday. The powers that be in the Department of the Army, and the Pentagon have taken steps to court martial and dishonorably discharge Dan Choi for doing what he has sworn to do as an officer in the United States military.

More Outrage As Bank Of America Rips Off Recipients Of Unemployment

As a public service we bring an update on the latest in excessive fees charged by our favorite financial institution, Bank Of America.
This story comes to us from New Mexico where the state, one of 30 other states, is using banks and credit card companies to disburse unemployment benefits by way of debit cards and direct deposits. State officials, and bankers say debit cards help reduce costs such as postage, paper and “processing”.
According to a Citi-bank spokesperson such programs are designed to supply a savings for the state while providing “added convenience without added expense” for the unemployed. Citi is the facilitator of unemployment benefits on pre-paid cards in Kansas and Maryland. The state of New Mexico reportedly realizes a savings of about $1.5 million annually using this procedure.

David Letterman Sometimes Tells Bad Jokes

We think the latest brouhaha over a couple of jokes told last week by late night comedian David Letterman is much ado about a whole lot of nothing.
Letterman told a joke about Alaska’s governor and her family; he told a specific bad joke about one of her female children. He made a joke about the governor’s appearance, too.
We agree his jokes were not funny. A couple of them were in bad taste. Unlike radio personality Don Imus, David Letterman does not have a history of making coarse, off color remarks about young girls.
