• Sad news. Another Hollywood couple's marriage bites the dust. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and his wife of 13 years, Tracey Edmonds have announced it's over. The Edmonds have two young children. The pair said they had already been unofficially separated "for quite some time." "It is with deep regret that we announce our permanent separation. We remain best friends," said the couple, who have produced movies and television shows together, including "Soul Food." "Babyface" is the artist who has collaborated with a long list of singers and composers recording and writing some of today's most popular hit tunes. Tracey Edmonds is a film and television producer in her own right.

• Renee Zellweger seen out enjoying a baseball game in Boston where the Yankees were hosted by the Boston Red Sox. She seems to be just fine following the filing for annulment of her four month marriage to country music artist Kenny Chesney. Renee is scheduled to be seen in the upcoming film "The Eye".

• Paris Hilton has ended her engagement to Paris what's-his-name. You know the Greek fellow. The 22-year-old Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis called Hilton "the most incredible woman I have ever met in my life," in a brief statement released Monday through her publicist Elliott Mintz.
  "I respect her decision and appreciate the very kind and generous manner in which she is handling her very difficult decision," Latsis said. "This was the best experience of my life and I will always be grateful for it."
  Hilton, 24, announced over the weekend that she had ended their four-month engagement because she's "not ready for marriage" and didn't want it to end in divorce.

• Jessica Simpson's sister, Ashlee Simpson," who recently turned 21 on October 3rd, will be appearing on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, for round two of "Is it live or is it Memorex?" Simpson celebrated her birthday while performing a lounge act in Las Vegas. Ashlee is known for her "performance about a year ago on SNL where the audience heard her voice singing the wrong song while she held a microphone at her waist.

• And those reports you've heard that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are finito are completely untrue. However Us Weekly's headline blares "Split!" across a photo of the twosome, while Life & Style's "It's Over!" runs across a picture of Simpson solo. Reps for both magazines have told E! Online that they are standing by their stories. Hmmmmm! Simpson's papa, Joe, denied Wednesday that his daughter's marriage has ended.

• Katie and Tom have announced they are expecting a baby. That's right, according to People mag, Tom Cruise, 43 and Katie Holmes, 26, dating since April, engaged in June, are expecting a baby. It will be her first, and his third. Tom has two adopted children, Connor, 10, and Isabella, 12, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

• Finally, in addition to all the other bad appointments and nominations coming from the Bush White House, word on the street is that GWB is planning to announce the twin appointment of his twin daughters Jenna and Barbara Bush to the federal agency Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. We suggest, due to their vast party experience, they be placed as the heads of the rebuilding of New Orleans instead. Stay tuned for more on this unusual, but not surprising rumored appointment!
