Thanksgiving 2006-Things for Which We Are Grateful

Once again it is Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. We would like to express our gratitude for the following things we consider blessings:
We are grateful for the people who come to look at our web site. We thank you for your continued patronage. We are very appreciative of the posts you have made in response to our blog and in our forum. Thanks to you for telling us what you think.

We are grateful for the man or woman who was in the Powell Library on the UCLA campus when 23 year old Mostafa Tabatabainejad was tasered unnecessarily, actually in our opinion tortured, by UC campus police officers. We are also thankful for the presence of the man or woman who recorded a similar attack by Los Angeles Police last year when they arrested a homeless citizen. (These incidents bring to mind the shocking videos of the 1991 arrest and beating of one Rodney King.) Thank you for your courage.

We are thankful for the high powered media executives, under the leadership of one Rupert Murdock, for cancelling what we think was a bad idea from it's inception, the O.J. Simpson "If I Did It" and companion tv interview. We think it was tacky and tasteless, not because we have a better idea, but because it was truly a tacky and tasteless idea from the start. (Judith Regan , surely you can do better than that.)

We are thankful a portion of the American electorate, finally, came alive and went to the polls to express their absolute dissatisfaction with the present administration and the controlling party in the House and the Senate. We are also grateful that the "election fix" did not work as well as it had in the past.

Along these same lines we are abundantly thankful for the fact that, in the words of Lorena Bobbitt, "It won't be long, now", our current president's term is nearly over.

For these blessings and many others we are thankful this Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving Day in the United States of America-2006

We wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving Day weekend. As we join with our families to give thanks and count our many blessings we hope you will have much to eat, enough to share and enough to spare.

We hope you will enjoy spending time with your family friends and loved ones.

If you've been to the holiday parade we hope the weather was good and the parade exciting. Did you see Santa when he arrived?

We hope you will not over eat, but if you do just take a walk around the block to relieve the fullness. Exercise after a big meal may help you feel better.

We hope you will find all of the Christmas gift bargains without too much hassle.

Most of all we hope you will have a great Thanksgiving Day weekend.
