President George Bush Begs Americans Give War A Chance

"All We are Saying is Give War a Chance"

On the evening of Tuesday, January 23, 2007, American President George Walker Bush stood before both legislative houses, as well as the American people, to deliver the annual presidential State of the Union Address. This is a speech that is mandated by the United States Constitution.(The portion of the law dealing with Executive Powers Article II Section 3)
It was expected Mr. Bush would address, among other topics of national concern, his proposal to add more troops to the conflict in Iraq. We've been hearing about this not so-secret proposal, a change in "strategery", the promise of using different a tactic, actually "changing the course",(after all those months of vowing to "stay the course") since before Thanksgiving.

We do not believe there is anything different about the tactics or the strategy the President is proposing to resolve the conflict in Iraq. In fact we think this is his last opportunity to risk American lives for the benefit of his Bush constituency; you know the Haves and the Havemores.

We say to the President who listens: Listen up Mr. President. We say to the President who hears us: Now hear this Mr. President! We do not wish to have our president beg us to give war a chance. We would like you to begin to bring the troops home from Afghanistan and Iraq. Just as you plan to send 20 thousand more personnel to Iraq, and as more troops are assembling war ships in the area, we say bring the troops home, Mr. President...20,000 troops every month, every quarter, every 6 months. Whatever schedule is appropriate. Save lives, both American,Iraqi and Afghani.

Bring the troops home now!

To the Congress made up of the Democrats we say: Do not wimp out on the American voters who put you in office! Do Your Job! Give us representation. We want the war to end as soon as possible. That does not mean taking the easy way out by cutting the funding for our family mmembers who serve. That means hammering out an effective plan to bring the troops home. That does not mean allowing the Republicans in either the House of Representatives or the Senate to attach pork barrel measures to dilute or hamstring the legislation that will bring our loved ones home alive and well or otherwise connive or maneuver to mislead or lie about the situation in the Middle East to further the interests of those who already have more than enough.

We say: Bring the troops home now!

President Bush and his supporters say: (to the tune of "Give Peace a Chance)

All we are saying is give War a chance
Ev'rybody's talking about
Republicans and Democrats and Bush this and Bush that
And bring the troops home and don't do that
All we are saying is give war a chance.
All we are saying is give war a chance.
Everybody's talkin' bout' escalate, regurgitate
Sinisters, banisters and canisters, and body bags
if we don't escalate it could escalate
All we are saying is give war a chance
All we are saying is give war a chance,
Let me tell you now
Ev'rybody's talking about Revolution,
evolution, retribution, torture
Flagellation, regulation, integrations
Mediation, United Nations
Iran negotiations.
All we are saying [keep talking] is give war a chance
All we are saying is give war a chance.

We say: Bring the troops home now!
Bring'em back alive and well!
