Komarnitsky Promotes Controllable Christmas Lights for Celiac Disease Charity

Alek Komarnitsky is a very popular guy in his neighborhood, especially during the Christmas holiday season. Every year since 2002 Komarnitsky and his wife Wendy put up elaborately decorate the exterior of their Lafayette, Colorado home with Christmas lights and ornaments.

They are the parents of two young sons,Dirk and Kyle, both boys have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder known as Celiac's Disease.

Celiacs Disease is a condition wherein the patient can not absorb nutrients. They are unable to tolerate foods such as wheat, rye or barley which contain glutens. It is an autimmune disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis. It is life threatening.

A few years back Alek and his wife decided to raise money for the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research in order to help their sons and others afflicted by the disease in finding a cure or alternative treatment. They decorated their home for Christmas as they promoted the unusual and detailed decorations on the Internet in hopes of raising money along with offering Internet surfers the opportunity to control the lights. With a click of the mouse an Internet surfer would be able to turn lights off or on. Visit the site to find out how this was achieved.

Whether motivated by guilt or part of a carefully crafted plan devised to gain publicity, of his own volition Alek came clean by admitting controlling the lights was a hoax. For a short time Komarnitsky was villified by the media who'd unwittingly helped promote his project. That was Christmas of 2004.

Since that time Komarnitsky has tirelessly worked with Santa Claus and his crew to provide state of the art technology to permit Internet visitors to his site the opportunity to send Instant Messages to Santa's Workshop, and to actually control the lights with a click of the mouse.

Alek and Wendy Komarnitsky are the best example of dedicated, responsible parents who use their creativity to contend with a life imperilling situation for their children. We commend them for the more than $20,000 they have raised to fund the research being done by the University of Maryland.

The public service they provide for their local community and the world is admirable just as his integrity is in self-revelaing the hoax is to be complimented. Christmas is a very special time of year. The Komarnitsky family is doing their part to supply "peace on earth~good will toward men."

We think you should go to the site, make a donation and share the site with your friends and family. It will be a welcome addition to your holiday joy. Joy is what Alek and Wendy are about, and isn't that what this time of year is about?

"Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childhood days, recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth, and transport the traveler back to his own fireside and quiet home!" Charles Dickens
