Dr. Mallika Marshall: Medical Expert Contributor on “Katie” TV Show
Dr. Mallika Marshall is the new voice to turn to for advice on family health, personal health and overall wellness…and now she will be an expert medical contributor on Katie Couric’s ABC television talk show.
Dr. Marshall is a native of Chicago, Illinois, a Board certified M.D. in both pediatrics and internal medicine; who currently lives in the Boston area, and is a practicing physician at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Chelsea Urgent Care facility.
Mallika Marshall, M.D. is the daughter of former ABC News correspondent, television journalist, the first woman to moderate a Presidential Debate, (1992), network news anchor, and now Leader in Residence at Boston Massachusetts’ Emerson College, Carole Simpson; and James E. Marshall.
Dr. Marshall graduated cum laude from Harvard College, and earned her medical degree with honors from one of the most highly acclaimed medical schools in the country, the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF). She completed her residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Children’s Hospital Boston through the Harvard Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program.
Dr. Marshall says:
“As a doctor I work to have knowledge and training to understand the human body and what keeps it healthy; but as a wife, mother of three, and daughter of aging parents, I do my best to tell you as I see it, from my own personal view.”
Dr. Mallika Marshall has been providing television audiences with medical information for more than ten years. Formerly a medical reporter for Boston TV station WBZ and a regular contributor on the CBS Early Show, CBS Newspath and the CBS Evening News, she is currently a contributor on medical topics on Katie Couric’s afternoon talk show, “Katie”.
During her appearances on the program Dr. Marshall will be providing viewers with answers to your medical questions in an easy-to-understand format, as well as covering a full range of health and wellness topics.
Currently she is engaged in writing a book series for school-age children called “Healthy Habits”. The book is intended to deliver healthy messages about everyday life in a series of fun and entertaining stories about elementary-aged students.
