John Boswell: Mister Rogers Remix | “Garden of Your Mind”
Another pop culture icon has returned from the dead to appear in a wildly popular YouTube video. Mister Rogers has a remixed video by Symphony of Science’s John Boswell for PBS Digital Studios.
We’re talking about the same Mister Rogers, Fred Rogers, the man who was an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church, an American educator, songwriter, author, and television host. The Boswell/Rogers collaboration is following on the heels of the successful holographic image concert of Tupac Shakur.
Entertainment speculators. those who attempt to foretell the future of entertainment, suggest we could be seeing, very soon, other long deceased entertainers updated through technology. Those who prognosticate the next big thing in leisure time activities say we could be seeing more of the performers who’ve left us too soon; such recent stars as Amy Winehouse, Aaliyah, Michael Jackson may be coming to your town holographically; or you may find you can view, and enjoy, on a digital device, video performances by great entertainers from other show business eras. Singers like Janis Joplin, Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Marvin Gaye, Freddy Mercury, Biggie Smalls, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr. and others. The late Fred Rogers “Garden of Your Mind” remixed is making headlines too.
The piece, created by Symphony of Science’s John Boswell, aka melody sheep, for PBS Digital Studios has gone viral. It was posted earlier this month, and it has already had nearly five million views on YouTube.
According to sources at PBS this video featuring the late Fred Rogers, is the first of several Public Broadcasting icons to be served up in the remix format…
