Office Space: Demand For Rentable Office Space On The Rise In Britain
As the UK tries to move out of a nationwide recession, it seems as though the office rental industry is back on the up, after considerable drops last year. Demand has reportedly increased in Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham, with a much sharper rise in demand for office space in London.
Particularly popular with small businesses it seems are serviced offices, with London serviced offices looking like being top of the list. Serviced offices are essentially like American business centres, where each room or floor is assigned to one business. Each company then pays monthly to rent the space, with all bills (heating, gas, electricity, etc) considered to be all inclusive within the rental amount. All of the necessary office furniture and equipment is also supplied, with phones lines and internet even being included. This makes serviced offices an excellent option for small business.
The increase in popularity of office space, particularly serviced offices, demonstrates that whilst people may not be keen on buying property at the moment; short-term, low commitment rentals are clearly being seen as more appealing. Those who run small businesses are reluctant to get into long-term financial commitements, given the current economic environment. Serviced offices therefor, would appear to be a good choice.
This interesting trend doesn’t seem to have been lost on big property companies throughout the UK. If you do a Google search for serviced offices Soho or serviced offices Victoria you’ll see lots of results from numerous different businesses offering serviced offices and office rentals.
Perhaps this is indicative of how business-owners in the UK are still attempting to grow, despite the economic recession. They’re now just looking for slightly different avenues to invest, and are trying to find ways of growing their business whilst still minimising risk.
So then, if you happen to be a property developer with a large building you’re looking at adapting, serviced offices might well represent an excellent investment option.
