For the last several years, everyone has been talking about 3G technology in cellular phones. Of course, it was simply a matter of time before something better and faster took its place. That is where the Sprint HTC EVO 4G, America’s first 4G mobile phone, comes in. Scheduled for release on June 4, 2010, the HTC EVO 4G features a spectacular 4.3 inch touch screen, dual cameras including an 8 megapixel main camera, and speeds up to 10x faster than 3G. In reality, the HTC EVO 4G is as speedy and powerful as a standard DSL and cable wired connection. Furthermore, users will have access to more than 30,000 apps from the Android marketplace.
There are actually several impressive features that will be included with the HTC EVO 4G. As described previously, the phone consists of two cameras. The main camera at 8 megapixels is capable of capturing HD video. The secondary camera at 1/3 megapixels is ideal for video chatting, vlogging, and self portraits. The 4.3-inch touch screen is the biggest screen available thus far in smart phones, and is capable of viewing HD content.
However, the most extraordinary feature is the 4G network, enabling download and viewing speeds previously unheard of in cell phones. While the 4G network is still increasing, and is therefore not available in all areas, the cell phone can still be used on the 3G network while waiting for expansion. The advantage is that there’ll be no need to upgrade when the 4G network becomes available in all areas.
In addition to the higher end features, the HTC EVO 4G also provides smaller features which will no doubt make the phone simpler and more pleasurable to use. For example, the back of the phone has a kick stand, which could be used to prop the phone up when reading large amounts of information, or watching videos. The HTC EVO 4G also has a built in FM tuner, a feature lacking on most other smart phones. Also, the built-in 4G hotspot capability makes the phone a mobile hotspot for up to 8 other mobile devices.
Not only will the HTC Evo 4G come fully packed with features, HTC is planning to launch OEM accessories for the Sprint Evo 4G, including a desktop charger and car mount holder. Since the Evo 4G is very popular, there’ll be many HTC Evo accessories available in the near future ranging from extended batteries to waterproof cases. This will further enhance the visualization and functionality of the Evo 4g.
Overall, the HTC EVO 4G is a technophile’s dream, and will undoubtedly transform the way that everyone uses their cell phones.
