The Way My Family And I Prepare For Penn State Home Football Games
Being a proud Penn State alumni, avid Penn State sports fan, and frequent football game attendee in Happy Valley, I have the Penn State football game day program right down to pretty much a science. Going to a game in Happy Valley is unique. The environment is as fine as it gets in college football. State College, Pennsylvania is actually in the actual center of the state of Pennsylvania, and because you descend into the city, this feels like everybody in the state is actually coming next to you. Fortunately, we now have fellow tailgaters with a portable satellite dish and Tvs so that we are able to watch all the morning college football action (particularly Big 10 games) whilst preparing for that big game.
The main part of tailgating is actually socializing with close friends, but food preparation and consumption is essential as well. All of us fire up the barbeque grill early and ensure that it stays going all day. Generally several types of meat get tossed on, personally I like any kind of steak to go with my adult drink during tailgating. Don’t forget to have plenty of ice and mixers.
Tailgating is actually enjoyable, but I always remind everybody that the main reason we’re there is for the game. I like to be within Beaver Stadium 20 minutes before kick-off. This allows me personally to soak in all the pre-game festivities, like the teams running out on the field, Joe Paterno’s entry, and the actual incredible sound associated with 100,000 fans yelling “Let’s Go….Penn State”.
