AMERICANS SAVE FREEDOM in U.S.

Indeed when it comes to tyranny much of the rest of the world has a head start on us. They don't need to change their laws to implement torture, to spy on people, to incarcerate indefinitely without charges. That is their birthright. Will we soon make it ours? And when we have silenced the objectors or spirited them away to secret prisons everyone will know the true glory of the New American Way where Freedom and Democracy died a long time ago but people are welcome to spend.

That's right the only things the administration of George W. Bush has encouraged us to do in the name of feardom, is watch television, continue to be consumers of goods, obey, shut-up and be afraid. We've become so docile we no longer fight for our own rights. We've become so afraid we're terrorized by toothpaste and shampoo. Anyone who dares to object is accused of being a traitor and sympahtizer of Al Quaeda, soon to be shipped off to secret prisons in unknown countries for being an enemy of the people as well as a terrorist sympathizer.

Meanwhile we continue to send our best and our brightest, our youth, our future to foreign shores under the pretext of fighting for rights we are entirely unwilling to fight for, or defend at home. Some of us refuse to see the many rights being removed while we continue to follow the Pie Eyed Piper and to cheer for "our boys fighting over there to bring freedom and democracy" to them who never asked for our help; but we have brought it to them none the less. We're supplying feardom and democracy--American style. It's being exported world-wide.

Does anyone really think changing laws to allow secret prisons, tortue, indefinite arrest, secret hearings, and secret evidence constitutes any sort of Freedom by any definition at all? Perhaps the Freedom of a barbaric dictator but that is all. Instead of exporting freedom we are home-growing the tyranny and barbarism of dictators and tyrants, who allow us to spend.
