Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims-Public And Private Memorial Services Set
Actress/singer Jennifer Hudson along with her surviving family members have established a foundation in memoriam to her mother, brother and nephew.
Hudson's family members, mother Darnell Donerson and brother Jason Hudson, were found shot to death in the family's Chicago home; three days late the body of seven year-old Julian King, Hudson's nephew, the son of Hudson's sister Julia and Greg King, was found in the family's stolen SUV also dead of fatal gunshot wounds.
According to a statement from the Hudson family the "specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime. This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as grief counseling."
A public memorial service has been set for Sunday afternoon for members and fans to honor the memory of the Oscar winning performer's family.
A private family service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008.
