Kentucky Fried Chicken ran a nationwide Holiday Traditions Contest and Colonel Sanders has selected the Controllable Christmas Lights for Celiac Disease as the winner.
Since 2002 the Controllable Christmas Lights for Celiac Disease are an annual tradition on the Internet. Over the years, millions of people worldwide , one hundred forty-eight countries so far in 2008 have viewed the more than twenty thousand Christmas lights by way of three live webcams on the Komarnitsky’s web site.
Visitors can add to their holiday fun by using the website’s X10 controls to turn the over-the-top Christmas display ON & OFF … plus inflating/deflating the giant Santa, Frosty, Elmo, SpongeBob, and even Homer Simpson.
Alek says he is tempted to use the $1,000 grand prize to buy even more Christmas Lights, he has asked KFC to donate the cash prize directly to the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research. KFC has agreed and the money has been given to the research center.
The total raised so far to help find a cure to benefit his two sons, Dirk and Kyle, both have the painful stomach disorder, is $35,000.
Reports abound with the news of Alek looking forward to a year of free KFC including many Two Piece Originals Meals and his favorite, numerous Buckets of Extra Crispy Chicken!
