Goldman Sachs: Financial World’s Little (Big) Piggies
“Have you seen the bigger piggies
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.”
“In their sties with all their backing
They don’t care what goes on around
In their eyes there’s something lacking
What they need’s a damn good whacking.
“Everywhere there’s lots of piggies
Living piggy lives…” ~ George Harrison
All this talk about Goldman Sachs— the fraud, greed and malfeasance associated with the so-called financial experts at the world’s largest global investment banking and securities management company has brought to mind a tune written by the late George Harrison a member of the Beatles and recorded by the the Fab Four many years ago, 1968, for the White Album. How prescient those mop-headed Brits were.
The decision makers at Goldman Sachs, have been since 1869, dealing primarily with institutional clients such as national governments, state and provincial governing authorities as well as municipal government entities around the world.
When they make a decision based on what is best for the corporation, rather than what is best for the client, their errors bring down national economies; and the Goldman Sachs executives rake in the cash.
“Have you seen the little piggies
Crawling in the dirt
And for all the little piggies
Life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in.Have you seen the bigger piggies
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.In their sties with all their backing
They don’t care what goes on around
In their eyes there’s something lacking
What they need’s a damn good whacking.Everywhere there’s lots of piggies
Living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon.” ~ George Harrison
