HealthCare Reform American Style: Right Wing Scare Tactics And Outrageous Lies
Bloomberg Poll recently released the opinion results of about 1000 American adults 18 years-old or older. The poll was conducted September 10 through 14; it has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.1 percent.
When asked, a majority of these adults said they believe the tactics used by those who oppose the healthcare reform plan, as proposed by President Obama’s administration, are distortions being stated in order to frighten the public. Kind of like what was done last fall during the presidential campaign.
There are 47 million American citizens living without proper health insurance. A very small percentage of illegal persons are living in the United States without health insurance.
A majority of the people sampled in the poll said they believe pronouncements such as “death panels”; “rationed healthcare”; “socialized medicine; with government-owned and operated health care for all”; “government money would be used to pay for abortions”; “government money would pay for health care for illegal immigrants”; are made to obstruct the passage of legislation that will help our people.
One of our favorite political cartoonists, Mark Fiore created an animated expression of his observation of the controversy over healthcare reform.
Take a look.
