Jamie France: Don’t You Wish You’d Started Your Racing Career Earlier?
Too bad 44 year-old Jamie C. (J.C.) France, the grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France, the son of Grand-Am founder Jim France; and cousin of Brian France chairman and CEO of NASCAR, can’t turn back the hands of time to follow the example set by 12 year-old race car driver, Gray Gaulding. Gaulding has amassed $20K in race winnings so far this year 2010, along with 10 first place wins out of a total of thirty starts.
According to his very supportive parents, the family relocated from Virginia to North Carolina to fuel his racing desires, Gray Gaulding began racing motor bikes at age three. This young man has his own race track at his home in North Carolina. Watch the video for more details about this NASCAR wunderkind.
As NASCAR fans, and France detractors, may recall last fall 2009 France was arrested, booked, charged, and later absolved by a judge of the crime the local Daytona Beach Police charged him with having committed.
No one is lamenting the end of France’s brief and most unremarkable professional (?) NASCAR driving career. In fact it could be said he was successful in achieving his goal. He’s a world-class wastrel.
