Kennedy Assassination\" src=\"http:\/\/youthinkwhat.com\/now\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/jfkPrintcov-260x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"249\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States.\u00a0 The president and the First Lady, Jacqueline, were in\u00a0Dallas, Texas, on a political trip to ease conflict within the conservative southern wing of the Democratic Party. He was only forty-six years old when he died at the emergency room of Parkland Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>On that day the <a title=\"jfk.html\" href=\"http:\/\/www.loyno.edu\/~lorenz\/jfk.html\">wire services<\/a>, UPI, (United Press International); AP, (Associated Press),\u00a0 radio and <a title=\"JFK Coverage After Dallas Assassination: View From The Control Room | TV News Director Max A. Schindler\" href=\"http:\/\/youthinkwhat.com\/now\/jfk-coverage-after-dallas-assassination-view-from-the-control-room-tv-news-director-max-a-schindler\/\" target=\"_blank\">television newscasts<\/a> from all three networks were hard pressed to provide accurate details.<\/p>\n<p>There were only three national television networks in the U.S. fifty years ago. They were CBS, (Columbia Broadcasting System); ABC. (American Broadcasting Company); and NBC, (National Broadcasting Company). It was the first time in our history electronic media provided 24 hour coverage of a major news story.
