In \u2018Toy Story,\u2019 there\u2019s my voice saying, \u2018You\u2019ve Got a Friend in Me.\u2019 And then here\u2019s my voice singing that I want \u2018A real live white man \/ Who knows the score.\u2019 I\u2019d like it to be clearer which side I\u2019m on. Of course, it comes a little late.\u201d ~ Randy Newman<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Seems the GOP, with its adjunct political party faction the so-called Tea Party, is hell bent on moving as far to the right as the east is from the west; ( in 1954 Republican President Dwight Eisenhower, in a letter to his brother, called the millionaires at the time,\u00a0 &#8220;a tiny\u00a0Splinter group&#8221;\u00a0of the Republican Party,\u00a0who not only\u00a0wanted to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, they believed they could be successful in doing so.\u00a0Back in 1954 the then Republican president, a former army general in World War II, said of those millionaires, &#8220;Their number is negligible and they are stupid.&#8221; President Eisenhower, affectionately known as &#8220;Ike&#8221; also said\u00a0 if any political party would attempt to abolish such government programs, &#8220;&#8230;you would not hear of that party again in our political history.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0once tiny faction has grown within the modern day 21st Century GOP, and the stupid quotient has increased seemingly\u00a0exponentially\u00a0with the number of Tea Party affiliates within the regular GOP.<\/p>\n<p>Randy Newman, King of Political Satirical Songs, has captured in this song, the frustration and likely the true color sentiments, of the fifty-three percent Willard Romney&#8217;s\u00a0expecting to capture in his win column in November.<\/p>\n<p>Make no mistake those who are unfamiliar with the term satire, please note Newman, \u00a0in a\u00a0recent interview with Slate Magazine\u00a0Newman asks\u00a0 listeners donate to the United Negro College Fund, (UNCF), explaining, \u201cI\u2019ve done Disney and Pixar stuff.\u00a0 In \u2018Toy Story,\u2019 there\u2019s my voice saying, \u2018You\u2019ve Got a Friend in Me.\u2019 And then here\u2019s my voice singing that I want \u2018A real live white man \/ Who knows the score.\u2019 I\u2019d like it to be clearer which side I\u2019m on.
