How fortuitous…following a memorial service commemorating what would have been the eighteenth birthday of the murdered unarmed black Florida teen, Trayvon Martin<\/a>, a Florida judge today denied a motion by the confessed shooter to delay his June trial for a murder which took place\u00a0 one year ago this month…February 2012.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>Seminole County Circuit Court Judge Debra Nelson, who lives in the city of Sanford where the fatal shooting took place, denied a motion by Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara, for a continuance in the racially charged trial.
\nThis means the trial is to go forward as scheduled on Monday, June 10, 2013.<\/p>\n

“I don’t see any of your issues as insurmountable.” ~ Debra Nelson, judge, Seminole County Circuit Court<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Judge Nelson also said O’Mara had been working on Zimmerman’s defense since April 2012 and still has another four months to prepare for the June 10 trial.<\/p>\n

Defense attorney O’Mara has said to reporters he needed at least another six months to raise money and lay the groundwork for the trial.\u00a0 Zimmerman faces a minimum 25 years to life in prison if convicted of second-degree murder of the unarmed Florida teen.<\/p>\n

Prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda opposed any delay in the trial last week saying O’Mara is spending too much time conducting media interviews and not enough time interviewing witnesses and examining evidence.<\/p>\n

The confessed shooter, who is out on a $1 million bond, is living in hiding; his movements, if any other than court appearances confined to Seminole County in central Florida pending his trial. At the time of the shooting, he was a neighborhood crime watch volunteer in a gated community where Martin was staying with his father.<\/p>\n

We believe there will be justice for the unnecessary fatal shooting of a young black teen by a deranged law enforcement wanna be.<\/p>\n

Happy birthday in remembrance of a young life abruptly ended.<\/p>\n

We commend and encourage Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, the parents of the dead boy, for staying the course to seek\u00a0 justice for their murdered son.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
