J-Hud To Perform National Anthem At SuperBowl XLIII

Clark Dark, ace entertainment reporter here with news about our favorite American Idol star Jennifer Hudson.

The National Football League, (NFL) has confirmed Jennifer Hudson, the 27 year-old singer/actress who already has an Oscar on her trophy shelf, will be returning to the stage on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Florida, to sing the Star Spangled Banner, the American national anthem. As we recall the last time Hudson performed the tune was in August at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado on the night President Barack Obama accepted the party's nomination to run for the office of President of the United States.

Hudson has not performed in a public appearance since her mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson; brother Jason Hudson; and nephew Julian King were slain in Chicago in October. Her estranged brother-in-law has been charged in the killings.

Hudson is also expected to sing at this year's 51st Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday, February 8, 2009 where she has been nominated to receive four awards; Hudson is up for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song (for "Spotlight"), Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for her duet with Fantasia ("I'm His Only Woman"), and Best R&B Album.

Add to those nominations seven nominations from the NAACP Image Awards and it looks like Jennifer Hudson's future is very bright after thedevastating experience of losing and mourning for her family members.

I hope she wins in all four Grammy categories, and I hope she will take home all of the Image Awards, even for categories she's not been nominated. Much success to you J-Hud. I love you.
