Oprah, LaChanze, Toni Braxton and more

GIRL6 with more entertainment news.....·

I suggest these concert dates if you're in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area:
On July 4th- Lionel Richie and Fantasia in concert on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on the Ben Franklin Parkway for The Sunoco Welcome America Festivities.

On July 8th- Anita Baker at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, 52nd and Parkside.

Singer Toni Braxton is going to be the latest singer taking on a long standing gig in Las Vegas. Toni is about to sign a deal with The Flamingo Hotel and Casino.
It’s a good time for Oprah. (This Girl just loves that girl Oprah I tell ya!) Still basking in the glow of last year's Legends Weekend, highlights of the event recently aired on television, her Broadway musical The Color Purple was nominated for 11 Tony Awards. The Tony Awards Show aired on June 11th on CBS with Best Actress-Musical honors going to: LaChanze, for "The Color Purple." LaChanze, who stars in the musical as Celie, is a native of New England, who studied and honed her craft in Philadelphia at The Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. Congratulations! (Applause! Applause!)
News on THE best girl singing group EVER: Ms. Cindy Birdsong , formerly of The Supremes is ready to talk about her life and being in The Supremes with Diana Ross and Mary Wilson in a tell-all book soon. She’s also expected to talk about the failed Supremes reunion that could have brought her millions of dollars.
Be sure to watch The BET Awards scheduled to air June 27th with host Damon Wayans. Nominees include Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, Denzel Washington, Terrence Howard, Queen Latifah and Alfre Woodard.
Chaka Khan will be getting the Lifetime Achievement Award.
