Major League Baseball's ALLSTAR Game in San Francisco

It's the 78th ALLSTARS Baseball Game being played tonight at A,T & T Park in beautiful San Francisco, California. The first pitchi is scheduled for 542PM Pacific time with the American League's Dan Haren of the Oakland A's and San Diego's Jake Peavy facing off as pitchers in this traditional game competition between the American League and the National League.

This year's game features stars such as Barry Bonds, who is just 4 HR short of matching Hank Aaron's home run record. Another star is Ken Griffey, Jr. who just 10 years ago was believed by experts to be on track to break Aaron's record. Between Aaron and Bonds there are 1,337 hits between them!

Prince Fielder, of the Milwaukee Brewers is another star. He's young and plays the game well. He is recognized as an outstanding first baseman. He's respected by his team mates and considered by many to be a leader amongst his peers. He's also the son of Cecil Fielder a Major League Baseball star in his own right.

There is the promise in tonight's game of National League talented youth. The NL has taken quite a beating at these annual meetings between the leagues. This time things could be different, and the difference could be found in the skills of the young athletes featured on the NL side.
