Randy Mc Michael Happy Birthday: When You Gonna Grow Up?

Randy Mc Michael, NFL professional football player, now with the St. Louis Cardinals, formerly of the Miami Dolphins with 6 years experience in the league plays TE. Today, June 28, 2007 is your birthday, and along with best wishes for many more happy birthday celebrations we wish to give you a wake up call!

You were born in 1979. That means today is your 28th birthday. Congratulations! You made it this far. How blessed you are to live this long; especially behaving the way you do.

We're not just talking about the two publicized incidents of domestic violence against your wife Cawanna; nor do we refer to the incident wherein you were charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, a second-degree felony that is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

If those offenses weren't enough for you to have learned your professional football career could come to an abrupt end because of your deviant behavior, you had the temerity during last year's Randy Mc Michael Foundation sponsored football camp in Fort Valley, Georgia, to act up with some of your buddies to tear up a luxury limobus used to transport you and your guests to night clubs in downtown Macon, Georgia.

Randy, Randy, Randy, you've placed yourself in the position of being a role model. We do not know whose bright idea it was to bestow this honor on you, clearly by last summer you had not changed your destructive ways. You destroyed someone's property. You caused a company, a small business that could ill afford the loss of income to lose business; you cost the company money after providing you and your friends with luxury chauffeur driven transportation. You caused the loss of income for a small business in the community you purport to help.

Sure you paid for the property you destroyed. But who would want your business after hearing about how you and your friends behaved? Who could afford to take on your business, regardless of how great an athlete you are? No sensible business owner would want to take the risk. Yes, we know rock stars tear up hotel rooms and otherwise act out. And they are not a role model either as you purport to be. You, Randy are not a rock star. Your behavior is unacceptable whether rock star, football star or ditch-digger.

You have a foundation whose stated purpose is:
"...promote programs that enhance the quality of life for young people, and assist in the recreational and educational development of youth in South Florida and Middle Georgia communities." We do not support your hypocrisy. Is this how you "...assist in the recreational and educational development of youth" anywhere in this country?

If you have no integrity, humanity, no home training, no common sense and you do not know how to conduct yourself off the field as well as on the field, frankly, we will not be cheering for you when you play. We will not be supporting your foundation.

This is the wake-up call part of this piece, the youth of any nation is its most valuable resource. Why must you add to the confusion of our children by saying one thing and doing another? You have children of your own. You must know they emulate their parents' behavior...for good or for bad.

But the 64 million dollar question for you, Randy, on this, your 28th birthday is:

When you gonna grow-up?
When you gonna man-up,and behave like a grown-A man?!

Happy birthday, blood.
