    Feb 04, 2013 in Education

The following video presents myriad facts about the oceans covering more than 70 percent of our planet.
Without the ocean life on earth would be an impossibility. The ocean makes life on the planet possible.

The  oceans are in desperate need of our human help. Most people are unaware of the myriad benefits the ocean provides us, nor how much we are connected and dependent on it.  80 percent of all the life on earth is  found in the oceans. (more…)

    Dec 08, 2012 in Education

Joe and Maria Cardinale have decided they’re mad as hell, and they are not taking it anymore!

“I’ve been paying for a top-of-the-line [insurance policy] for all these years. They knew I had a waterfront home. They took my money and now that I need their help, I’m not covered for anything.” ~ Joe Cardinale homeowner, on unsatisfactory insurance coverage for his family’s home by Allstate’s Deluxe Plus Homeowners Policy in an interview with the Staten Island Live web site.

The picture of the huge hole in their house is the result of the super storm, Hurricane Sandy; the storm which ravaged portions of the Caribbean, and devastated the Middle Atlantic and Northeastern states of the United States in late October 2012. (more…)

NYPD Commissioner Kelly: NEW Policy – Shoes, Socks, Sleeping Bags, Blankets, Coats for Homeless!

Dec 01, 2012 in Civil Rights, Education, Law enforcement

“Character is doing the right thing when nobody’s looking.
There are too many people who think that the only thing that’s right is to get by, and the only thing that’s wrong is to get caught.” ~ J.C. Watts, Jr.,  former Republican congressional representative from Oklahoma’s 4th congressional district in south-central Oklahoma and Baptist minister.

The following video shows the generous actions of one NYPD officer; it is the exception that proves the rule.

We’ve been told by unnamed sources close to beleaguered New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly he will be issuing a news release announcing a new, improved policy to be implemented immediately, rendering the previous video unexceptional:

All homeless persons found by members of the world’s largest urban police force will be provided, and forced to accept, appropriate covering,(including sleeping bags rated to minus 25 below freezing). The policy is specifically designed for those persons living on the street when the temperatures fall below 50 degrees during the the first day of October through May 1st of the following year. U.S. Number Of Vacant Homes Greater Than Number Of Homeless People

Aug 04, 2012 in You Think So

We’ve been saying it all along. There is no housing shortage.

In the Depression of the 1930s there was so much surplus food it was dumped into the ocean rather than give it away to the millions who were starving.

In this current depression there are so many empty homes they, the banks, are letting them rot to the ground rather than give them as shelter to homeless persons, including children, even allowing them to pay whatever they can.
We seem to prefer waste to helping each other.

    There is no excuse!

We hear all the time about the resilience of the American people; our We Can Do It attitude. We all know when the government wants to do a project, where there’$ a will there’$ plenty of funding for the project to prevail. (more…)
