    Aug 27, 2008 in Uncategorized

The movie presented here, “I’m Voting Republican“ is satirical. For YouThinkWhat staffers it is the appropriate response to that Debra person who is a former Clinton supporter who tells us in a campaign ad for good old John Mc Cain that she’s casting her vote for good old John Mc Cain, aka Jack Mac, the presumtive presidential candidate on the Republican side. She even tells other former Clinton supporters it’s okay to vote for good old John Mc Cain. We’ll have more to say about Debra and her ilk at another time. (more…)

Michelle Obama: We Know You And We Really Like You

    Aug 26, 2008 in Uncategorized

We’ve heard and read both print and electronic journalists, say Michelle Obama’s image is being remade by her husband’s campaign team for the big rally for votes in the general election.

    michelle-obama_denver08-2.jpg

We do not believe Senator Obama and his strategists are trying to make his wife over to be, as some have described the goal,” more acceptable” to certain segments of the American voting public.

Mrs. Obama is an educated woman. She has degrees from the nation’s best universities. Princeton and Harvard are the universities where the nation’s future leaders in business, culture, law and politics are prepared and trained to perform their constructive contributing roles in society. We know for a fact when one matriculates at Princeton the education received from that venerable institution provides many of the necessary tools to be a top corporate or government executive, consistent responsible parent as well as the First Lady of the land. Main Stream Media Just Like Talking Dogs

    Aug 25, 2008 in Uncategorized

The always clever staff of YouThinkWhat describes the Main Stream Media (MSM), not to be confused with an anti-inflammatory supplement, as being like Talking Dogs.

Whenever we hear any news story reported by the MSM, such as Dick Cheney shoots a trial attorney during a hunting trip and the result is the trial attorney apologizes to the veep for stepping in front of Cheney even though the vice president used the “shoot first, look after” firing technique; or John McCain can not remember how many homes he owns; or Barack Obama is not an American citizen; or President Clinton is unhappy with his role at the current convention in Denver; or any reports about Amy Winehouse, Brangelina and the twins, Brittney Spears, Beyonce , we  are reminded of a joke about a talking dog. The joke goes like this: (more…)

    What John Edwards Shoulda Said

    Aug 15, 2008 in Uncategorized

Always on top of the current news and ever creative our staff at YouThinkWhat offers what former senator John Edwards should have said at his news conference last week . As you may recall he admitted to having an illicit extra-marital affair with the novice filmmaker Rielle Hunter. It is believed by some Edwards is also the father of Hunters baby daughter Frances Quinn, though Hunter says he is not, possible father Edwards says he will submit to paternity testing while Hunters friends and family are divided into groups that say Edwards is the baby’s daddy and others say they want the DNA testing to go forward to determine paternity. Pigeon O’Brien Should Be Called Stool Pigeon, No?

    Aug 13, 2008 in Uncategorized

We saw a recent CBS Morning News program interview with Pigeon O’Brien a woman purporting to be a 20 year friend of Rielle Hunter, former senator John Edwards’ girlfriend and possibly his baby, outside his marriage to Elizabeth, momma.

If ever there were a candidate for the “Warhol 15 Minutes of Fame Award” this woman fits the bill.

Her description of her “friend”, who at this time is not taking calls from her, is one of the most convoluted presentations we’ve heard since the Bush White House tried to explain anything they done over the last seven years.

On the subject of Hunter having integrity this blabbermouth says Hunter is simply overflowing with it. (more…)

Way To Save On Rising Health Care Costs

    Aug 12, 2008 in Uncategorized

We have a friend who has discovered an incredible way to save money on dental, vision, chiropractic and medical services. I know you’re thinkin’ , “If you don’t use those services, you’ll save a bundle!”

This may be true. You will save a good deal, but the resulting decline in your good health and the health of your loved ones is not a good trade off. More than 70 percent of Americans have no coverage or are under-insured. Many had coverage through their employers, but when they lost their jobs through downsizing or outsourcing they lost the coverage needed for individuals and their families. (more…)

Philadelphia Eagles Front Office Unenlightened Classless Act

    Aug 12, 2008 in Uncategorized

The Philadelphia Eagles organization has once again proven itself truly to be devoid of class.

    hdshot-shawn73.jpg

In the case of Shawn Andrews, number 73 starting Right Guard, who has courageously admitted he is dealing with depression as the reason for not being at training camp, the management of the NFL franchise in Philadelphia has gone overboard in proving to be cold, callous, unfeeling even. And they’re using the sports-talk radio disseminators and duped fans to do their dirty work. (more…)

Shawn Andrews, Philadelphia Eagles’ All-Pro Guard Subject Of Sports Radio Bashing

Aug 11, 2008 in mental health

The following article appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer. When a professional athlete admitted he suffers from depression, the bashing on sports-talk radio began. The commentary by Arthur Caplan, who is chair of the *Medical Ethics Department at the University of Pennsylvania. Contact him at: caplan@mail.med.upenn.edu

*We think it odd to put those two words together; nevertheless we agree with Arthur Caplan’s commentary. Read it. Tell us what you think.

So how far has America come in taking the shame and stigma out of mental illness? Not very far, at least if the acknowledgment by the Philadelphia Eagles’ All-Pro guard Shawn Andrews that he suffers from a mental illness is an indication.

    hdshot-shawn73.jpg

The 335-pound Andrews, who refers to himself as the ‘Big Kid,’ had not shown up at the Eagles’ Lehigh University training camp. No one seemed to know why.

There was talk of a contract holdout. Some suggested Andrews was out of shape. Some of his teammates expressed a lot of irritation that he was not there slogging out exhausting two-a-day practices in the summer heat and humidity, wondering if maybe he just did not want to go through the misery that is an NFL training camp.

Finally Andrews, deeply hurt by all the speculation, broke his silence. He told reporters for The Inquirer and Daily News that he was battling depression.

“I’m willing to admit that I’ve been going through a very bad time with depression,” Andrews said this week in his first public comments about his training camp absence. “I’ve finally decided to get professional help. It’s not something that blossomed up overnight. I’m on medication, trying to get better.” (more…)
