A Message From George Carlin Comedian

Sep 22, 2007 in Communications, Education, Entertainment, We Think, You think so

george-carlin-175.jpgRecently a friend sent this to us in an email. We’ve been fans of George Carlin’s for a very long time. With all the insanity taking place daily in our world we thought it appropriate to publish the words written by the comedian, known as “The Greatest Living Stand-up Comedian” George Carlin, whose wife recently died.

In this piece George, always the clever wordsmith, reminds us to take note of the important things in life. We hope you will agree and try to put into practice his suggestions. We bring you A wonderful Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. W e have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. (more…)

We Think: It’s Time For A General Strike!

Sep 21, 2007 in Business, Civil Rights, Communications, Democrats, Education, We Think, You think so

As a result of the success of the protest march held in Jena Louisiana on September 20, 2007 to demonstrate citizen displeasure with injustice perpetrated on our young people all across the nation. Knowing now the legal authorities in Jena are adamant about their determination to unfairly punish the Jena Six; keeping in mind the frustration we all feel with the Iraq war, the state of our nation’s health care systems, housing and mortgage issues, education, the lack of useful information provided by our American free press and the fact our president has continually worked in concert with federal legilators to decimate our constitutional rights we agree with Garret Keizer a contributing editor of HARPER’s Magazine. You can rely on YTW to be always the leaders of innovative solutions to societal problems. We see the current education gap as the Bush family sees it. It is an entrepreneurial opportunity to exploit the undereducated people of our society. And so we present

Memo to D.A. J. Reed Walters of Jena, LaSalle Parish Louisiana

Sep 20, 2007 in Civil Rights, Democrats, Education, Justice, Media, Republicans, US Politics, We Think, You think so

TO: J. Reed Walters, District Attorney, Jena LaSalle Parish Louisiana
    FROM: Africa Blanche Reilly Dark

I wonder. Where do you live? Apparently you do not live in Jena Louisiana. You say the case of the so-called Jena Six ” is not, nor has it ever been about race.”

Seems to me it’s about race. Jena Louisiana small town of nearly 3000 people most of whom are white and real bigoted including you. The rest of the town’s population is black people who’ve always known and lived with the oppressive conditions the world has now come to know exist in your jurisdiction. (more…)

Racine Wisconsin Love and Charity Mission

Sep 20, 2007 in Business, Civil Rights, Communications, Democrats, Education, Justice, Media, Republicans, Technology, US Politics, We Think, You think so

The new school year is in full swing in many areas of the nation. Racine Wisconsin is no exception.

The Love and Charity Mission located in Racine Wisconsin under the leadership of Mrs Louise Hunter, affectionately known as “Mother Hunter”, needs your donations.

Computers, office supplies, food, clothing, your time or your money will provide needed assistance to the less fortunate families who rely upon the Love and Charity Mission. The good servants who work to assure an adequate education, healthcare, shelter and nutrition for the people, especially the children who are homeless and benefit from the services offered by the mission need you to give your support however you can.

Right now they are in crisis with a utility bill from Wisconsin Energies of more than $35,000. Won’t you help them continue the worthwhile work they perform?

If you’re in the Racine area stop by the mission. Help serve dinner. Give a hand with homework assignments. Read a story to the children. If you can not give of your time send some money.

    Send donations to:

    Love and Charity Homeless Mission
    1031 Douglas Avenue
    Racine Wisconsin 53403
Or telephone: 262-634-7059 to offer your assistance to the helpers and those who benefit from the help given.

Just because the president says the economy is in good shape does not make it true. The trickle-down theory of modern economics is not working effectively. There’s a kink in the pipeline.

George Bush will never go down in history remembered as a great president who enhanced the American economy.

Louise Hunter and her staff will always be known for helping others.

Jena Louisiana: A New Chapter In the Civil Rights Movement

Sep 20, 2007 in Civil Rights, Communications, Democrats, Education, Justice, Media, Republicans, US Politics, We Think, You think so

We have a theory at YTW . “If it happened before I was born it has no significance in my life.” This statement is in reference to historic events and how each new generation relates to those events.

Many young people today have previously expressed this opinion when it comes to matters of civil rights for all people. (more…)
