As a public service YouThinkWhat begins its celebration of Black History Month by bringing to you the speech heard around the world in August 1963 in Washington, D.C..

We want you to know and remember Martin Luther King, Jr was substantive, not just a dreamer. He was a strategist and a man of action who used the same principles as India’s Gandhi, to lead the greatest movement for equality and freedom the world has ever seen. There is a difference between non-resistance and non-violent resistance to evil acts.

The late Dr. King, a recipient of the Nobel Prize for Peace, inspired a national movement and a worldwide following. (more…)

On Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada Caressa Cameron, the contestant representing Virginia, was crowned Miss America 2010

Miss Cameron, a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, displayed her singing talent by performing the song “Listen” from “Dreamgirls”.

When Simon Cowell, the infamous, mostly astute about assessing talent, judge on the teevee reality show American Idol said during an audition when he heard General Larry Platt’s original tune “Pants On The Ground” …”I’ve a horrible feeling this tune could be a hit”, we agreed. We did not have a horrible feeling because to us the lyrics make sense and the tune is catchy. We ;like it.

Rather than dismiss Larry Platt as just some old guy who received a benevolent 15 minutes of stardom, we found him interesting enough to conduct some research.

Apple has unveiled its latest product in the “iP__”line of electronic tools.

There has been much buzz about the new iPad, which looks to us like a big-A phone for old people.

We found this video produced about three years ago by MadTV around the time the first murmurs of an iPad product were heard. We concur with the opinion expressed by the off the wall writers at MadTV.

When we were college students we studied radio television communications.

The latest well known  spokesman for the Republican party, and there are several of varying degrees of sanity and intelligence who say they are members who speak on behalf of the GOP; Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota’s 6th District appeared on a radio program in Philadelphia with the venerated senator from Pennsylvania Arlen Specter. The two were featured in a debate about Obama-care the proposed health care reform legislation. (more…)

Tonight President Barack Obama will present his first ever State Of The Union speech to both houses of the United States Congress, the members of the Supreme Court, the military officials, other dignitaries, both American and foreign, and the people of our nation.

At 9pm Eastern Time the president’s vision for the future of the country will be televised live from the capitol in the capital city Washington, D.C..
He will be describing his plan to deal with unemployment, health care, and the  wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. (more…)
