    Obama Inauguration To Be Seen In 27 U.S. Theaters

    According to reports from New York City President-elect Barack Obama is on his way to the big screen, thanks to a deal between MSNBC and Screenvision that will put the news channel’s inaugural coverage in 27 theaters around the country.

    Free tickets are being handed out via MSNBC.com to see the inauguration and parade from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. ET at the 27 theaters run by 11 exhibitor partners in 21 markets. Midday Tuesday isn’t necessarily a big movie time, so it helps to fill the theater — and boost popcorn and soda sales — at a time when it’s not usually busy. (more…)

    Lately we have seen and heard much about the final days of the Bush administration. We have been told by the spinmeisters that the current president, George Walker Bush, is a good deal smarter than we know.  We are told he reads several books a year. In fact he confirmed he will be writing a book. Imagine the number of jokes that can be made from that announcement alone. He gives nicknames to staffers and cabinet members.     Much controversy continues to surround president-elect Barack Obama’s choice of Rev. Rick Warren to give the invocation at his upcoming inaugural ceremony on January 20, 2009.

    Warren is very popular among the Christian right. He is the California mega-church, anti-gay marriage pastor, who during the campaign last fall held a meeting at the Saddleback church which featured the Republican candidate and President-elect Obama. (more…)

    General Motors Acceptance Corporation,  GMAC,  is now a bank.

    On Wednesday, December 24, 2008 The New York Times published a report stating Federal regulators have approved the section of General Motors that handles financing, for cars and for homes, to become a bank in order to access billions of dollars of government subsidies, an action believed by the Fed Res to be a crucial step to insure the company’s survival.
