    Electronic Journalism 101

Jan 29, 2010 in We Think

When we were college students we studied radio television communications.

We found this piece called “How To Report The News” by British journalist and writer of satire Charlie Brooker to be comical as well as  informative.

Fellow bloggers–especially those who produce online videos, please take note…

Bachmann Is No Lady Specter Deserves Respect

Jan 27, 2010 in We Think

The latest well known  spokesman for the Republican party, and there are several of varying degrees of sanity and intelligence who say they are members who speak on behalf of the GOP; Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota’s 6th District appeared on a radio program in Philadelphia with the venerated senator from Pennsylvania Arlen Specter. The two were featured in a debate about Obama-care the proposed health care reform legislation. (more…)

    International Crossroads-Blanche Reilly Dark

Jan 25, 2010 in We Think

The way I see it if Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab had stayed in Nigeria or if he’d been stopped by the people in charge of the so-called U.S. “No Fly” list, there may not have been an attempt, a very pitiful attempt to blow up a plane en route to Detroit, Michigan on Christmas Day.

If that non-event had not taken place–after all no one was seriously injured, nonetheless the American flying public is afraid because of what did not happen; then we would not have heard Senator Lautenberg of New Jersey complain about the weak punishment for Haisong Jiang, 28, of Piscataway, NJ who “breached” a lame security area at Newark Airport. Haisong Jiang, a graduate student at Rutgers University, only wanted to kiss his beloved good-bye as she was on her way to California after a holiday visit with him. We wish him success in defending himself against the charge. We hope his community will provide the best legal mind available to insure his bright future. (more…)

    TSA Of The Future?

Jan 25, 2010 in We Think

In light of the many articles written about the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the numerous videos we’ve seen depicting the level of incompetence exhibited by the agency charged with keeping consumers safe on the ground in airports and in the air in planes, someone thinks our future may look like this when we travel by air…..

Will We Still Love Haiti Tomorrow? By Blanche Africa Reilly Dark

Jan 20, 2010 in We Think

Blanche Reilly Africa Dark, Clark Dark’s mother,  and the matriarch to us all at YouThinkWhat, speaks about the tragedy in the Caribbean island nation of Haiti.

I’m having trouble understanding how until last week’s powerful earthquake struck in Haiti, most of us in the Western hemisphere thought it was no big deal for the people there to live as they have all these years in heartrending poverty and squalor. In fact many Americans did not know such a place exists. I am confident when I say many can not point to it on a world map. Of course considering many Americans do not know where they are, it is not surprising to know they can not identify the location of the object of this outpouring of human concern. (more…)

    Pat Robertson Scary-vangelist

Jan 17, 2010 in We Think

We’ve concluded televangelist Pat Robertson is a pretty scary individual not for what he says, not because many people thought he was dead, but because he has millions of people who agree with what he says and we’ve no idea who these people are. We can’t put a face on the audience he claims. (more…)
