We really like Joe Biden, the Democrat senator from Delaware who is running for vice president on the ticket with Senator Barack Obama. We love him because he is the real deal. Joe, even with his extensive vocabulary, his many years in the U.S. Senate and his college education and law degree, his comb-over, and his “Folks I wanna tell you” plain manner of speaking, is more real, more authentic, more genuine than anything the GOP can morph in five weeks or less. No it’s not a bill sponsored in congress by a character from a situation comedy it’s sponsor is Peter De Fazio from the Fourth Congressional District in Oregon.
In a message to his colleagues in the House of Representatives De Fazio quotes Simon Johnson, a former chief economist of the International Monetary Fund who said in the New York Times of Paulson’s plan, “Our view that this package, in a fundamental sense, will not solve the problem.”
Representative De Fazio then stated:
“We have credible alternatives to the Paulson/Bush $700 billion gamble. William Isaac, the chairman of the FDIC during the previous worst financial crisis in the United States during the 1980s, believes (more…)

The moderator of tonight’s Vice Presidential Debate is Gwen Ifill. Ifill is an experienced and knowledgeable journalist who currently works for PBS. There is some made up controversy about the book she is writing. The book’s subject is politics in an age when educated blacks are aspiring to and achieving high levels of success in the field of public service.
A few McCain supporters believe as the moderator of tonight’s debate between candidates Palin, the number two on the Republican ticket, and Senator Biden, the vice presidential candidate on the ticket with Senator Obama, Ifill can not be unbiased in her duties as moderator. (more…)

A new five minute ad featuring many celebrity entertainers uses reverse psychology to urge those who are eligible to register to vote in the general election on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. We think this is a clever and worthwhile commercial. We realize for some citizens nothing short of blasting caps will get them off the sofa to go out and vote. We really hope this initiative works. Take a look…. (more…)

There are new reports from the weekend that John McCain’s campaign is full of gaming industry lobbyists and gaming industry big players…we wonder what the religious right has to say about this new disclosure? Will they continue to support McCain because he’s not black?

CALL your Senators and Representative right now to say “No $700 Billion Bailout for Wall Street” – dial the Capitol switchboard at 800-473-6711 or 202-224-3121
Email Senators and House Representatives
From CREDO and Democrats.com
“After a week of high-drama negotiations, Congress and Hank Paulson issued Bailout version 1.1, which is just the original Paulson pig with a lot of lipstick.

Republicans say the deal will be profitable for taxpayers, but they are lying – just as they did about the invasion of Iraq producing lower gas prices. It’s a lie because Paulson has full power to pay too much for the securities and he will because his real goal is a bailout of bank executives and shareholders with our money – a massive ($2,333 per person!) transfer of wealth from the poor and middle class to the rich.
Democrats say they got oversight, accountability, and limits on executive compensation but each of these provisions is so full of Republican-written loopholes that they are meaningless – just like all other restrictions imposed on the Bush Administration, from Iraq to wiretapping. And that’s before Bush simply negates any restrictions he doesn’t like with one of his unconstitutional (and hence impeachable) signing statements.
So our answer remains ABSOLUTELY NOT.
The House will vote on Monday and the Senate will vote on Wednesday. ”

Listen closely you can hear JMack swearin’ “horseshit! horseshit!” as he gets properly spanked by Senator Obama for making the gaffe about meeting with Spain.
We do not want a president who can not modify his behavior; a leader who can not control his temper in a public forum. Good old John McCain’s decision to swear during the response from Senator Obama is rude and very un-presidential!
