Sep 15, 2010 in We Think

The word on the street is Ken Mehlman is joining the rodeo clown from Faux News Channel,  the guy who isn’t sure he wants a theocracy because he doesn’t know what one is; along with the grifter former Governor of Alaska, as well as Don Imus, you may recall he’s the over-the-hill radio DJ with a way with words to describe young black females;  along with disgraced comic, actor, performer Michael Richards the man who really knows how to call a spade a spade, along with that self appointed arbiter of bad advice and poor judgment Dr. Laura “She’s-Not-A-Licensed-Psychologist-Or-Psychiatrist-But-She-Needs-To-Be-Under-The-Care-Of-One” Schlessinger, when they will be touring the country in the coming weeks to help gin up the Repuglican Party faithful in preparation for the November mid term elections.

Tell your friends you read it here first. Plans are in the making for a national road show featuring all of America’s favorite racists. (more…)

    Advice On Eating Cheap

Sep 03, 2010 in We Think

As the world continues to try to trade its way out of this global recession, the average person is suffering with increasing debt and rising living costs. A lot of this debt has arisen from upbringing, not knowing the power of saving and not being able to sacrifice wants over needs. One of the issues that America is facing constantly is the cost of eating. Not only are we the most obese country in the world, but we are unable to or unwilling to sacrifice going out with friends in order to pay off debt. The worst thing is, most people go out and pay full price when there is no need to. There are ways to eat out cheaply which in turn will save you substantial amounts of money. The below hints should help you in that area.

    - Search the local newspaper for advertisements that serve cheap three course meals during the week. Sometimes, you can find places that are ordinarily pricey that offer extraordinary weekday bargains. Don’t eat all of it or force yourself to eat all of it, take it away for your lunch or dinner the next day.

    - Use free stuff websites to get the latest food freebies and utilize them when they are released. FreeStuff4Free.com is a website that specializes that in free samples have some great printable coupons for your favorite restaurants.

    - Use kids eat free restaurants. MyKidsEatFree.com is a good resource for finding out which restaurants offer free kids meals with the purchase of an adult meal in your area.

    - Consider not ordering a meal for the kids and have them share with you. Don’t be greedy! No need to eat such large portions.

    - Order one soda, one salad, and share a main. Try to go to destinations that are known for serving big portions. This will almost halve the bill that you are used to. Given that most places serve extraordinary large portions, you will survive sharing a main.

    - Skip the alcohol. Water is still a liquid and is much more nutritious to your body and is generally free.

    - Make sure you visit your favorite restaurant’s website. They will often have a social club that you can join which will have great benefits like birthday freebies that are sent out or money saving coupons.

    - Consider eating dinner at home and then go out for dessert and coffee. This will again save you significant amounts of money.

Using the above tips are guaranteed to save you money in your hip pocket that you can put towards reducing debt in your household. In this time of great uncertainty, it is important that we build up an attitude of debt reduction and saving for the future.

Aug 27, 2010 in We Think

On Saturday, August 28, 2010 many Americans around the world will remember the forty-seventh anniversary of the historic March On Washington For Jobs and Freedom. It is the monumental event which, few would dispute, was the culmination of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. It was considered the very first time a U.S. president gave the organized descendants of former slaves and poor people his undivided attention and with the intent to change their lot through decisive legislation.

Several groups will be in Washington for commemoration of this very historic American event. (more…)

Aug 24, 2010 in We Think

We especially find it true that anyone who is among the thousands millions who watch FoxNews Channel on a regular basis does so only to increase the lack of intelligence quota. or theLIQ. (This acronym when followed by the letters O-U-R are the reason so many people are watching Fox News Channel and come away far less informed than they were when they began watching the news programs offered by the cable news channel…) (more…)

Explosions of Every Nuclear Bomb 1945 Through 1998

Aug 10, 2010 in We Think

We could not escape all this talk in the United States of nuclear weaponry because of the commemoration of the use of the atomic bombs dropped on civilians in Japan in 1945.

We found an  interesting video piece created in 2003 by the  artist  Isao Hashimoto of Japan. We are sure you will be surprised, as were we, to see the number of devices detonated since 1945 up to and including 1998; that’s more than ten years ago. How many more bombs have been tested since 1998? What are our world leaders arming us against?

The recent news of released military classified documents related to the Afghanistan War, and the related hacking that was done to access the classified materials gave us pause, along with others, to ask questions about the term. We wondered how it came to be, and what constitutes the practice of hacking. How long have hackers been in existence? (more…)
