First, it’s news of the Book of the Month featuring Yonkers, New York resident, poet Tessa Kale. Ms Kale’s latest effort is her chapbook collection of poems in the title The Hudson Line.
You can pre-order this item, it’s the Finishing Line Press 2009 Winner of the Press Prize in Poetry Open Chapbook Competition. This is a limited edition that ships August 23, 2010. Reserve your copy soon.
The publishers want to remind everyone time is running out if you wish to enter the 2010 OPEN CHAPBOOK COMPETITION. June 30th is the deadline for your entry.
This contest is open to all.
There is a prize of $1,000. Plus publication will be awarded by Finishing Line Press for a chapbook-length poetry collection.
All entries will be considered for publication.
The top-ten finalists will be offered publication.
Submit up to 26 pages of poetry (one poem per page), along with biography, acknowledgments; include a self addressed stamped envelope and a cover letter with a $15 entry fee. Do this by the deadline postmarked

Final judging will be by renown poet and essayist Ned Balbo. He is the author of The Trials of Edgar Poe and Other Poems which received the Donald Justice Poetry Prize. In 2009 Mr. Balbo’s Something Must Happen, a poetry chapbook, was published by Finishing Line Press.
