Teddy Pendergrass When Somebody Loves You Back
R. Kelly, Usher, and all the current popular R&B crooners owe their career and style to the late Teddy Pendergrass.
The former drummer for Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes, left the group to become a wildly successful solo act and star of Philadelphia International Records, especially when he became the first to perform “Ladies Only” concerts, establishing a musical program marketing brand targeted for the ladies….demographic 18 to 80. All the females swoon for Teddy.
All of Philadelphia mourns along with his surviving family members, as does the world, the passing of one of music’s legendary figures.
Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, January 22, 2010 in Philadelphia.
