U.S. Patriot Act: North Carolina Teen Caught In Federal Web Of Protection?
From the “Hey-This-Is-America-They-Can’t-Do-That” Department of YouThinkWhat comes a story that is shocking news to most.
The news piece you are about to view deals with one North Carolina suburban teen and his family’s encounter with law enforcement.
The first part of this story shown in the preceding video deals with the Patriot Act, the fact it was sold to Americans as the panacea for all things pertaining to terrorist acts…especially acts perpetrated by foreign terrorists; or so we thought. The way the law was composed it never specified foreigners, we assumed it was a law to protect us from “them”. It was easy to sell the legislation to the American people at a time following the tragic events of September 11, 2001. It was the time of red, yellow, magenta and other rainbow pastel color alerts to keep us in a heightened state of fear. Fearful people are easiest to control than defiant people. We did not realize the “them” we were being protected from is really “us”….you and me. Regular John Q. and Jane Q. Public and all the little Publics, too are the targets of this very bad legislation..
The second point in this news story is that it is apparent the government investigators, FBI, Homeland Security, are not up to speed on the latest technology used by criminal types in the 21st Century.
It does not come as a surprise to us a federal agency or two tasked with keeping us safe knows nothing about a technological advance known as spoofing currently in use by nearly every business enterprise from corporate collection agencies to the little genius down the block with entirely too much time on his hands.
