CONSUMER INFORMATION UPDATE:
Earlier this week a federal judge unsealed internal Microsoft e-mails used by the plaintiffs’ to support their case in a class action lawsuit brought by all individuals who bought “Windows Vista Capable” PCs. Attorneys representing the plaintiffs told the court “each person in our class did not get what they paid for”, after the operating system was launched. The U. S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently held hearings in Boston, Massachusetts on the issue of Network Neutrality. Network Neutrality, or Net Neutrality, is defined as the principle that keeps our Internet open and free from censorship. Net Neutrality prevents Internet Service Providers, (ISPs) , such as phone companies, and cable operators from interfering with web content, by blocking or slowing transmission or by imposing censorship determined by such arbitrary criteria as the source, ownership or destination. Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick dared his opponent during his campaign last fall, to deny the powerful inspiration the words of Patrick Henry, or Abraham Lincoln or John F. Kennedy or Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. have provided a nation.
