In This Political Year Something To Think About

On this first Sunday of the New Year when the morning news programs will be featuring predictions for this political year from the usual talking dunderhead so-called pundits, we offer this bit of sage advice from a witty clever man who is long since gone on to his reward. The writer whose words we display is a man whose death was widely, albeit erroneously reported as rumor. In his day rumors were often wrong.
We bring you the words of the late great American humorist Samuel Clemens, also known as Mark Twain:
“Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.”
Something to think about as we begin this political year.
