Joe Biden: We Love You Man!
We really like Joe Biden, the Democrat senator from Delaware who is running for vice president on the ticket with Senator Barack Obama. We love him because he is the real deal. Joe, even with his extensive vocabulary, his many years in the U.S. Senate and his college education and law degree, his comb-over, and his “Folks I wanna tell you” plain manner of speaking, is more real, more authentic, more genuine than anything the GOP can morph in five weeks or less.
Biden struck a cord with us when he became emotional during last night’s veep debate as he described his experience of being a single parent. We were sincerely and deeply touched as he told of his ordeal. We think many voters were moved by his story.
Following the death of his wife and daughter who both died in an auto crash, Joe was left with the responsibility to nurse back to good health the two sons who survived the Christmas holiday tradgedy. He committed himself to raise his sons. He travelled every night from Washington, D.C. to Delaware to be present in the lives of his children.
We often hear of men who do not take a role in the lives of their children. We hear complaints about men who are married who are utterly disinterested in the family they have helped to create.
We believe it should not take a tragic situation, like the one Joe experienced, to cause the men in our society to live up to their responsibilities.
We believe regardless of the situation, whether married, never married, widowed or divorced the men must take part in the lives of the children whether they are male or female children. All children need to know and have a relationship with their father.
There are many more fathers bringing up their children without the benefit of a wife and mother than we may know. Joe Biden is a man who knows politics, the law, and about being a single parent. We think he’ll be a good vice president.
