Political Frequently Asked Questions for 2007
Here are a few of the questions we believe have been frequently asked during the past 12 months. We now provide answers to these FAQs.
Will having a cast of black comedians help Don Imus’ image as he returns to radio?
As far as we can tell this is Imus’ 20, 000th reincarnation and return to radio that we know of. The man has been on the air somewhere on the planet for the last 40 years doing the same tired act. You know the one were he makes a controversial remark and everyone who hasn’t heard it before is shocked and outraged? We’re not sure adding black performers to the roster of his program will hurt or help. What we do know is this ethnic addition will reduce the unemployment rate among blacks. Only time and the Arbitron ratings will tell.
Is America ready for a black president?
We think after the tenure of the current knucklehead in the White House anything is possible. America is ready for anyone whose leadership provides reason and intelligence, two things sorely lacking in the current administration.
Can Oprah help Obama win the race for the presidency?
Whether or not the number two most popular woman in America can help Senator Obama defeat the number one most popular female in America for the nomination remains to be seen. It’s for certain the senator from Illinois is gaining on the former first Lady who also hails from Illinois.
The general practice in U.S. business is when a company has reached its lowest levels of achievement the business is usually put under the direction of a black man to attempt to resurrect it from disaster. The government of the United States is no different.
We see Senator Obama as possible President Obama because the incumbent has ruined the country’s economy and gotten the nation embroiled in foreign policy matters that will take years to extricate our government from. Why not let a Democrat, a black Democrat, deal with the low down and dirty aspects of what it will take to bring the nation back?
The senator’s perceived lack of political experience is of no consequence. George Bush has set the standard for lack of experience in politics, lack of knowledge of the areas the president should be at least superficially familiar. We know for sure Barack Obama is knowledgeable about geography, and science, he can correctly pronounce the word nuclear, and he is not in awe like a child about the size of the nation of Brazil.
We definitely think America is ready for a black man as president. Of course we could also be wrong.
