VERICHIP: The Chip Technology Is Here

VeriChip Corporation, the marketing arm and a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions, a successful technology company in Southwest Florida has been manufacturing Radio Frequency Identification chips for years for use in animals. Instead of using the traditional ID tag on Fluffy’s or Fido’s collar, many the pet owners allow the veterinarian to painlessly inject a chip under the animal’s skin. If the pet is missing or lost the chip frequency is transmitted to a receiver or reader device.
“The reader is a hand held or fixed-mount device that emits electromagnetic (radio) waves. These waves can range from one inch to 100 feet and are dependent on power output and the radio frequency used.”
Verichip has also developed technology for use on humans. Now through the magic of science your entire medical history can be imprinted on a chip the size of a grain of rice…in Japan the scientists there have made a chip as tiny as a grain of sand.
As announced on the Verichip web site this is
“the nation’s first and only microchip cleared for patient identification by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration”
Sounds really convenient, yes? As with all great inventions someone will some how manage to corrupt its use for the “bad side”….Hmmmm
So while you’re concerned about paying your mortgage, keeping a job, nurturing your children, getting an education watching the dramas unfold that include health care legislation, Tiger Woods infidelity scandal and the Late Night TeeVee host wars some person with a high powered rifle may inject you with a chip to track your every move…..
