You Think What?

Yeah, yeah all the neo-cons and the fuel company executives are gung-ho to begin drilling for oil under the guise of reducing our current dependence on foreign oil.

NEWS FLASH folks…oil drilled off shore today will not even begin to have an affect on our current resources for a minimum of five years. By that time you should have paid off your gas guzzlin’ behemoth and bought a new more fuel efficient vehicle.

How come no one is talking about this fact? We think the energy companies and the Republicans who support them and subsidize them are counting on Americans being so distraught about gas prices we will accept any solution, no matter how ridiculous while being dismissive of practical solutions, such as proper tire inflation,  and voluntary lowering of speed limits, until we can get this alternative energy plan up and running.

Drilling off shore today provides tomorrow’s polluted beaches. You’ll have cheap gas prices but you won’t be able to fish or swim at the beaches when you drive your family there. Hmmmm, something to think about, no?
