Mayweather Victorious in 10th Round Over Ricky “Flattened” Hatton
“There’s only one Mayweather. One Mayweather. He talks the talk. He walks the walk. Walking in the money wonderland.” That line was sung to the popular holiday tune “Winter Wonderland” by boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Junior

following his defeat of Rick Hatton in the 10th round of a match held in Las Vegas on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the MGM Grand Hotel.
Earlier in the week fans of the U.K’s Ricky Hatton were singing lyrics to the tune proclaiming his boxing virtues and to predict their hoped for defeat of U.S. boxing champion Floyd Mayweather.
No amount of Hatton elbows and forearms could stop Mayweather from knocking opponent Hatton flat on his back in the 10th round. That’s why we call him Ricky “Flattened” because midway the 10th round Ricky was caught with what Floyd calls a “check hook”. Even though Hatton was thoroughly dominated by Mayweather during the fight it was this punch, the “check hook” that caught the boxer Hatton flush on the chin as he was lifting his head upward and laid him flat out on the canvas.

Mayweather whose record is 39-0, 25 KOs plans to take a long time off before returning to the ring. His next challenger could be WBA champion Miguel Cotto followed by IBF champ Kermit Cintron, WBO champ Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito.
