Tell Presidential Candidates Clinton, McCain and Obama: Protect The Public Not AT&T
Wake up America! This is a cause we should all support. Our privacy and the rule of law are at stake once again as the debate over wiretapping continues.
The United States Senate is considering legilation that is in violation of the Fourth Amendment to our Constitution. This legislation includes Retroactive Immunity for telecom companies. You know AT&T, VERIZON, and whatever names the new Baby Bells have chosen to call themselves lately.
Senator Chris Dodd from Connecticut and Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, along with others, are determined to stop retroactive immunity.
We ask the three senators running for president to get involved in this matter. We think if anyone of them is serious about being our next president they should speak on this subject and do it quickly. We think they should go back to Washington to be present for the vote and to participate in a filibuster if that strategy becomes necessary to preserve our rights.
Here’s what you can do: Contact your Senate representative by email or by phone…calling is a good way to make your poitn since this is about telephone privacy.
Contact Senators Clinton, McCain and Obama. Ask them to leave the campaign trail in order to protect our civil liberties.
We’ve endured seven years of George W. Bush and the BushCo neo-con methods of governing. We need leadership from people who understand the Constitution of the United States. We need leadership from people who truly defend and protect the Constitution of the United States. We’ve had enough lip service.
We need action and we need it right NOW!
