Bank of America The Bank of Opportunity Now The Bank That Cares

Oct 17, 2007 in Banking/Finance, Business, Civil Rights, College Sports, Communications, Democrats, Education, Justice, Major League Baseball, Media, National Football League, Professional Sports, Republicans, Technology, US Politics, We Think, You think so

We’ve been hearing from our sources that Kenneth D. Lewis, Chairman, CEO and President of Bank of America Corporation, known as the “Bank With the Opportunity to Take Advantage of You”, will soon be announcing a change of strategy with the rebranded slogan “The Bank That Cares”. Hard to believe but we’ve been told by our sources Bank of America has had a rather extreme change of heart and will soon be announcing a new program to benefit any customer, current or past, who has been over charged with erroneous Not Sufficient Funds, mortgage or credit card fees.

Sources tell us customers need only visit their local banking center and speak to the manager to have their concerns addressed and receive an immediate refund. (more…)

General Strike October 17th or November 6th?

Oct 15, 2007 in Business, Civil Rights, College Sports, Communications, Democrats, Education, Entertainment, Foreign Policy, Justice, Major League Baseball, Media, National Football League, Professional Sports, Republicans, Technology, US Politics, We Think, You think so

There have been calls for a general strike from several quarters of our diverse political community. October 17th or November 6th

Garret Keizer, contributing editor for HARPER’s Magazine suggested we citizens organize to send a strong message, loud and clear to our government that what they’ve feared all along has become a reality. Why else would there be a Patriot Act?? but to protect the government from its own citizens. These laws were not imposed on the citizens of another country.

We The People are mad as hornets in a nest that’s been stirred up. We’re not gonna to take it anymore. Enough is enough! Finally! Americans are fed up with the lies. (more…)

October 17, 2007 SHUT IT DOWN!

Oct 12, 2007 in Business, Civil Rights, College Sports, Communications, Democrats, Education, Entertainment, Foreign Policy, Justice, Major League Baseball, Media, National Football League, Professional Sports, Republicans, Technology, US Politics, We Think, You think so

You may have read about the idea here or in an article by Garret Keizer a contributing editor for HARPER”s Magazine. In the October 2007 issue of the magazine Keizer makes the suggestion, one we believe is an excellent one, to hold a general strike to express our displeasure with the present administration, the congress and its policies.

Sick of it all are you? Iraq, Afghanistan where our young men and womane are dying to fill the pockets of those who already have too much? New Orleans where established families have been displaced and insurance companies cry, “I’m sorry you were not covered for those damages.” Incredulous about Jena Louisiana and the fact the town seems caught in a time warp remeniscent of 1937 Dixie?

Do you feel helpless to affect change in policies? There is something You can do. Express your disapproval of the system. Get the attention of the powers that be. All of us. Black white, Latino, Asian, Native Americans, immigrants legal and illegal. Workers, middle management, blue collar, white collar, laborers, low level executives. ALL OF US! You do not need to go anywhere to participate you can do this from you hometown, or your place of work.

SHUT IT DOWN OCTOBER 17, 2007!

We are plagued with unjust sentencing of juveniles and adults regardless of ethnicity. Our elderly face declining healthcare services with exorbitant prices for treatment and necessary drugs. Corporations no longer are beholding to the people who make it possible for executives to make 500 or 600 times what the average working stiff earns annually. Our children are in need of health insurance coverage as well as a decent education in order to perform basic reading and math to get them through a lifetime. If you are dissatisfied with restrictive laws, police brutality and security guards gone rabid, with so called security to provide the illusion of homeland security….you need to SHUT IT DOWN OCTOBER 17, 2007! Jena Louisiana: A Look At the Numbers

Oct 12, 2007 in Business, Civil Rights, Communications, Democrats, Education, Justice, Media, Republicans, Technology, US Politics, We Think, You think so

Many of us live in areas much larger than the tiny backwoods town of Jena Louisiana.

The always civic minded staff of YouThinkWhat is providing as a public service a breakdown of the real numbers involved in this case of excessive sentencing and abuse of judicial power.

Because many of us live in metropolitan areas so when we hear the figures 10 or 12 percent we think in terms of extremely large numbers. We relate those percentages to populations of hundreds of thousands, even millions of people living in a town or city.

As you may recall, the population of this town, steeped in racial controversy and known around the world as a throwback to America’s darkest hours in civil rights history, is only 3,000.

The latest U.S. census records the percentage ethnic break down as 12 percent black and the balance 88 percent white.

For our purposes we will use 10 percent to show how ridiculous are the authorities in the parish, led by the school board authorities, the overzealous district attorney and his partner in the miscarriage of justice from the bench the judge. (more…)

Heather Mac Donald On Jena 6: You Almost Got It Right

Oct 12, 2007 in Business, Civil Rights, Communications, Democrats, Education, Justice, Media, Republicans, Technology, US Politics, We Think, You think so

Heather Mac Donald is a John M. Olin fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a Contributing Editor to City Journal whose articles run the opinion gamut from complaining about feminists to instructing how to interrogate terror suspects to her complaints about blacks who stand up for their rights in the U.S.

Mac Donald is one of those pundit suma cum idiots who is always citing statistics. They are presented in a manner that carries a tremendous persuasive power, but if you stop to think about it afterward, you realize no one has questioned her sources or the reliability of those sources.

We find this not so clever tactic to be annoying at best. It’s rhetoric that appeals directly to the feelings of her mass audience. It doesn’t even have to be logical to move the majority. It simply has to appear to be so, as long as it arouses the appropriate feeling of the masses who pay close attention to this fake intellectual.

In a recent article Mac Donald writes “Let’s assume the worst about Jena, Louisana and the charges of attempted murder brought against five black youths…that the district attorney’s indictments were motivated by rank racism and that the racial tensions in this town of 3,000 are exclusively the product of white animus against blacks. Does it follow that this latest object of frenzy on the media’s racism beat is emblematic of America’s judicial system or the state of race relations today?”

The answer to your question Ms Mac Donald is a resounding “YES!” The ghosts of de facto segregation, even Jim Crow policies are alive and thriving in 21st Century U.S. (more…)

Who Let The Dogs Out?! U.S. Security Guards Attack Like Rabid Dogs

Oct 10, 2007 in Business, Civil Rights, Communications, Democrats, Education, Justice, Media, Republicans, Technology, US Politics, We Think, You think so

All over America reports of human security personnel gone berserk. In airport terminals, hospitals, libraries at institutions of higher learning even in the public schools security personnel are exhibiting a heretofore unheard of or unseen show of excessive force toward citizens outside of the maximum security sections of a federal or a state penitentiary.
