Aretha Franklin-Queen Of Soul- To Headline Free Concert For King Birthday Celebration
A free concert featuring Aretha Franklin will be held at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. on Monday, January 19, 2009 to celebrate the birthday of American humanitarian the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The event is co-sponsored by Georgetown University and the Kennedy Center. This concert event features Kennedy Center honorees along with popular entertainers. Ms Franklin was honored in 1994.
Tickets will be available at the concert hall on the day of the program. Other performers include the violin duo of Nuthin' But Strings and the Let Freedom Ring Choir from Georgetown University.
